OXFORD lost a flurry of wickets in a desperate attempt to notch another bonus point in a rain-affected draw against Falkland at Roman Way.

After Falkland had posted 226-9 from their 66 overs, the heavens opened and it didn't look like there would be any more play.

However, when the rain stopped and with both teams keen to get back on the field, Oxford were left with 23 overs.

Trying to reach the first bonus point of 100 runs, the Oxford batsman went out in an aggressive mood, playing their shots.

Adam Cook hammered 43 and Joe Porter 30, but as the wickets fell Oxford finished short of three figures on 96-8.

Earlier, Falkland were indebted to Ben Chapman with an excellent 92 after they had won the toss and deciding to bat.

Philip Evans and Jack Brooks bowled tight opening spells, not giving the opposition batsman any width to free their arms.
