COACH John Houston said he could not be more pleased with his three fighters despite a mixed night for South Moreton BC at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Gavin Lissenden, Terry Russell and George Pickett all competed in the Queensbury League’s ‘All Guns Blazing’ promotion .
Regional super-middleweight champion Lissenden defended his title against previously unbeaten Jake Heasman in a fight which included four knock-downs.
But Russell lost narrowly to Dominic Felix in his light-heavyweight national title bout, while Pickett was beaten by Daniel Burk for the novice belt.
Both fighters look likely to return to the super-middleweight division.
Houston said: “I was really pleased with all the boys.
“They all had great learning fights and I think we learned that Terry and George are not light-heavyweights.”
