BANBURY United manager Mike Ford expects a different outcome when his side travel to Dorchester Town in the first qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup tomorrow, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Puritans were beaten 2-1 at home when the two sides met a fortnight ago in Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division – the second match in a run of four straight defeats for Ford’s side.

However, the Banbury boss is anticipating a different kind of encounter.

He said: “When they came to our place a couple of weeks ago, they only really came to defend for 90 minutes.

“They came to frustrate and to stifle us and fair play to them, it worked.

“But at home in the FA Cup, with £3,000 at stake, they’ll be expected to try and win the game.”

Injury and unavailability meant Ford had to name coach Anton Sambrook on a four-man bench for Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Redditch United.

Andy Gunn and Dave Lynn return, but the Puritans are still missing Zac McEachran (knee), Jack Westbrook (groin) and Mark Bell (unavailable).

Top-scorer Jamie Cook and influential midfielder Callum McNish miss North Leigh’s trip to Corinthian-Casuals due to hamstring injuries.

McNish came off before the break in Monday’s 2-1 win over Swindon Supermarine, with Cook – who netted twice in North Leigh’s 7-1 win over Thame United in the previous round – following after half-time.

“They’re big losses for us, for differing reasons,” said boss John Brough.

“Jamie has scored eight goals this season in as many games and you can’t easily replace that.

“Callum is an important player for us and he was just getting up to speed after his suspension at the start of the season.”

Lance Williams and Morgan Williams return, while Jon Else could make his first start in midfield after returning from Cirencester Town.

Cup-tied Mark Burton will miss out as Wantage Town look to extend their unbeaten run to five games at home to Beaconsfield SYCOB.

The centre-back, who signed last week from neighbours Milton United, has already featured in the competition this season for his previous club, going down 2-0 to Ascot United in the preliminary round.

The injured Aaron Oakley (ankle) and Adam Doyle (knee) are also out, while there are further doubts over Aaron Ferris (dead leg) and Mason Thompson (heel) are doubts.
