THREE members of Oxford Powersports won medals at the British College and University Championships.
There was gold for Eleanor Hope-Pain in the women’s 75kg class, even though she only started weightlifting last August.
Kristine Santos, who studies at Oxford Brookes University, gained a silver medal in the women’s 48kg class, while Matt Hague, from Abingdon, did likewise in the highly competitive men’s 94kg category.
Oxpower, based at Oxford Rugby Club, took a team of four from their Uplifting Youth Project to the Central England Schools Championships at The Athlete Centre in Oxford.
But Levi Whyte, Erin Whyte, Elizabeth Kime and George Burnham but were unable to get a medal.
All of them are coached by Marius Hardiman, Julie Morrish and Gareth Turner.
