Reece Chamdal, the 15th ranked English cadet, dominated the Oxford & District League’s junior tournament at Kidlington Forum.

The highly promising 13-year-old, who plays for Forum, landed four titles.

He carried off three age group singles’ titles, while conceding only one game, which was to John Ho (Holton) in the under 18 groups.

Reece now has gained a vast amount of experience, not only on the English Four Star junior circuit, but also in international competition and training in China.

Ten-year-old Todd Stanmore continued his astronomical rise.

Stanmore enrolled in the beginners’ class at Forum in September, and his achievement in becoming under 12 winner and reaching the under 14 final was remarkable, as he defeated Kiarash Shaddel 3-1 en route in a sparkling display.

Chamdal and Stanmore proved to be a dream partnership in the handicap doubles, as they defied the handicapper to claim the title.

The girls’ title went to 14-year-old Vicky Coll.

Newcomer Pelin Karabulut, 11, finished runner-up in the girls’ event and won the graded singles.

Joe McKenna-Jones showed a return to form, eliminating Kavan Warrender from the under 18 singles in a five-game thriller, and giving Chamdal a run for his money in the final.
