RONNIE Moore says Oxford United’s players have the quality to “frighten the life” out of his Hartlepool United side tomorrow.

The U’s were the veteran’s first opponents after taking over at Hartlepool United last season, earning a 1-1 draw at Victoria Park.

Moore (pictured) followed it up with a 2-0 win at the Kassam Stadium in March as they staged a great escape from relegation.

Pools have been unable to build on the success in an inconsistent campaign so far. But although Moore is full of respect for United, he is urging his players to focus on their strengths.

He told the Hartlepool Mail: “They are decent, (Johnny) Mullins at the back’s good, it’ll be a tough game.

“Kemar Roofe has had a tremendous start to the season. We know all about him, he’s a danger.

“He gets on the back post and gets goals, but if we keep looking at their players we’ll be frightening the life out of our team.

“We’ve got to be positive and look at our side”

He added: “Oxford under-achieved last season with the players they have.

“The manager and his staff have done a fantastic job there – they are a big club at our level.

“To be second in the league is a big test for us.”
