MICKEY Lewis is back in football less than a month after parting company with Oxford United.
The 50-year-old has been appointed as assistant manager at National League South side Hayes & Yeading United.
Lewis's departure as U's first-team coach after the start of pre-season came as a surprise.
His association with the club began when he joined as a player in 1988, making more than 350 appearances before holding a variety of coaching roles, including two stints as caretaker manager.
Hayes & Yeading are in the same division as Oxford City, but are not due to face them in the league until February 20, when Justin Merritt's side visit York Road.
The return game at Court Place Farm is on April 9.
