Premier Section side Cowley Workers had to come from behind to beat Section 3 hosts Littlemore British Legion 5-4 in the first round of the Greene King ODDA’S Men’s Summer Seven-a-side Cup.
Dave Swanton took the first leg for Littlemore when beating Lyndon Richards, but wins from Pete Hall, Jon Jukes, Wayland Honour, Nick Cobb and Aaron Stevens saw Cowley home.
Garsington Social Club, from Section 6, gained a thrilling 4-3 victory at home to Section 4 side Cricketers Arms C.
In the deciding leg, Steve Prew beat Graham Brain to see the hosts progress.
Visitors Kidlington Green Social Club A proved too strong for fellow Section 2 side, George Bar C, winning 4-0.
In the Ladies’ Seven-a-side Cup, Kidlington FC, from Section 3, gained a shock 4-3 victory at home to Section 1 outfit Crown Inn.
The decisive win came from Jeannette Burton in the final leg.
The all-Premier Section clash saw Blackbird Bar win 4-2 against New Inn, while Corner House B defeated Donnington CC B 4-0.
There were also wins from Corner House A, Crown Inn (Chalgrove) Berinsfield Community Centre and Red Lion.
