THE best frame in the Wallingford and District League this week took place at the Horse and Harrow in their match against Portcullis.

But the Portcullis man overcame the disadvantage to win 6,280-6,270 in a thriller.

Pete Burton equalised only to see Mick Shepherd put the visitors in front again.

In another close affair, Pete Welch beat Pete Barnes 5,620-5260 to make it 2-2, and it was left to Portcullis skipper Shepherd to take the decider with 7,650.

Rose & Crown A completely outplayed John Barleycorn, whose entire team scored only 4,390.

Bob Pincombe and Mick Lee levelled for Gladiators.

Comrades Club beat Rose & Crown B 4-1 thanks to Chris Alexander who ran up a total of 9,940 while the lone scorer for the Chilton team was Danny Croucher.

That result of that match, along with the Fairmile Social Club v Rose & Crown B contest, is subject to a committee decision.
