Oxford Lions rider Adam Wrathall remains stable though under sedation in the John Radcliffe Hospital after his terrifying crash against Weymouth on Sunday.

According to his brother Martin Wrathall, his injuries include a broken right lower tibia, broken left thumb, broken left and right scapula, suspected broken collar bones and Compartment Syndrome in his right arm.

The 15-year-old also has severe bruising to his lungs and bruising to the head with some internal bleeding on the back of the brain Martin Wrathall said: "They have operated on his leg and thumb last night and he is having another operation on his leg tomorrow to finish off the pinning.

"The 'compartments disease' has only just been found. This is a build up of pressure in the muscle and this is being operated on.

"They are keeping him in intensive care for the time being and are keeping him sedated due to the amount of bruising on the lungs and the unknown severity of the head injury.

"They have slowly started to bring him out of the sedation to monitor how he reacts.

"Once again I would like to thank all the well wishers. I would also like to say a big thankyou to all those who helped out at the track, both with Adam and with loading the van after.

"I also feel it important to point out this crash was in no way connected and was not a consequence of George Piper falling off. "Adam's bike picked up on turn three/four and Adam's crash was completely separate. I hope George is ok after his fall."
