Jon Gardner scored a double as Ardley United made it seven wins in a row in all competitions with a 4-0 triumph at Milton United in Saturday’s Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division derby.

Kevin Brock’s side started strongly and went close to taking the lead on 20 minutes, but Craig Griffiths in the Milton goal tipped Ricky Johnson’s shot over the bar.

Ardley took the lead on the half-hour mark.

Gardner put in a deep cross which was headed back across goal by Johnson for Luke Ingram to knock in with his head.

The visitors doubled their lead five minutes before the break.

Johnson flicked Conor Ingram’s cross into the path of Gardner, who made no mistake.

Just two minutes into the second half, Ardley made it 3-0.

Substitute Kieran Scott, on for the injured Luke Ingram, pounced on a loose ball before lashing past Griffiths.

Victory was sealed on the hour-mark with Ardley’s fourth goal.

Gardner broke clear before rifling a 25-yard free kick into the bottom corner.

Third-placed Kidlington were held to a 1-1 home draw by local rivals Oxford City Nomads.

Harry Beer gave the visitors a first-half lead before Tommy Franklin secured a point for Kidlington.

Thame United twice battled back to earn a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw at mid-table Wootton Bassett Town.

Conor McDonagh levelled after Joe Hiscock put the hosts ahead in the first minute.

Nathan Gambling restored the hosts’ advantage, but McDonagh levelled it up for Mark West’s side.

Abingdon United remain a point from safety after 4-1 defeat at second-placed Flackwell Heath.

The visitors rattled their high-flying hosts when Jack Smith headed them into a tenth-minute lead on his debut.

And with 20 minutes left, it was looking good for Abingdon.

However, Gavin James equalised before Dan Burnell penalty put Flackwell ahead.

James scored twice more to compound Abingdon’s woe.
