ARMAND Gnanduillet has high hopes of being a success at Oxford United – because he can understand the players’ accents.
The striker, who joined on loan earlier this week, left France to join Chesterfield two years ago.
He spent a month at Tranmere Rovers, scoring twice in four games, but found it difficult to decipher the scouse accent.
He said: “It was a bit strange because when they spoke there was a bit of an accent, which was hard to understand.

“Here it is easier to speak with the players.”
United also appealed to the 23-year-old due to a French connection – former Le Havre youth team colleague Jeremy Balmy.
Gnanduillet said: “We were together in the football school, so he helped me here as well.
“I knew he was here and when the gaffer said ‘you go to Oxford’ I was happy because I knew I would be with my friend.
“It’s nice, nobody speaks French (at Chesterfield).”
