New Zealand World Cup winner Piri Weepu will quit London Welsh at the end of the season after signing a two-year deal at Top 14 French club Oyonnax.
The talented All Blacks halfback has endured a miserable season with Oxford-based London Welsh, who are bottom of the Avivia Oremiership without having won a single game.
Weepu had signed a two-year deal with London Welsh but had an exit clause if they were relegated.
Dropping back to the second division is now a formality and Weepu has pushed the exit button.
Oyonnax announced that Weepu is set to move to France on July 1.
Oyonnax are eighth in the French championship with nine wins and nine losses from their 18 matches.
