John Patey led the way for West Oxford Democrats Club in their 4½-1½ win over Vikings in Group A of the Oxford Summer League, writes PETE EWINS.

Patey (7,450 & 9,160) bagged a brace of wins, with Billy Hill (5,220) and Terry Green (3,120) also on target.

Hill had earlier drawn the opener with Lewis Stratford, sharing 5,170, before Mike Jones put Vikings in front.

Group B leaders Marlborough Club B drew 3-3 against their A side, who remain in second place.

Chris Bateman and Arthur McIntyre (4,960-4,300) put the B string in front, only for the A team to storm back through Danielle Chewings (3,330), Dennis Atkins and Adam Ingram.

Pete Rose then won the last game to share the spoils Gladiators Club A won 4-2 at home to Bletchingdon.

Bob Pincombe (5,570 & 4,320) and Jenny Webb bagged a brace of wins apiece for Gladiators, with Pete Soanes (4,550 & 3,460) notching a double for Bletchingdon.
