Great move on the left for Welsh, but Scott can't hold a potential scoring pass

There is a mighty roar for the Bristol players as they leave the pitch after their warm-up. Their fans have travelled in numbers.

7:35pm

Reports coming in from my colleague David Pritchard of heavy traffic leading up to the Kassam Stadium. Hopefully, everyone can make it in time.

7:31pm

7:30pm

The referee tonight is Wayne Barnes, one of the leading whistle-blowers in the English game. With the standard of players on show, this resembles a Premiership game, but only one club will achieve that dream next Wednesday. A big win tonight by either side could be decisive, but we are more likely to witness a tight clash.

7:18pm

Almost two years ago to the day, Welsh beat Cornish Pirates to secure promotion to the Premiership. A win tonight would go some way to achieving a repeat. Here is our report from that match

7:07pm

The teams are unchanged from those announced yesterday...

London Welsh: Stegmann, Crane, May (capt), Jewell, Scott, Ross, Cook, Trevett, Morris, Edwards, Spencer, Corker, P Browne, Kirwan, D Browne.

Reps: Vella, Bristow, Tideswell, West, Thorpe, R Lewis, Awcock.

Bristol: Wallace, Watkins, Tovey, Mosses, Short, Robinson, Baldwin, Traynor, Johnston, Hobson, Glynn, Townson, Koster, Mama, Jones (capt).

7:05pm

7:01pm

Welsh are expecting a crowd of between 4 and 5,000, which would comfortably be their best of the season. They have said they simply want to win tonight, but to do they must stop a Bristol side who have not lost in the league since December.

6:55pm

It is a wet and gloomy night at the Kassam Stadium for London Welsh's biggest game of the season. But the Exiles will be hoping to pick up in the exciting style they left off to defeat Leeds in the semi-final here ten days ago.
