MALCOLM Rose (Oxonian) returned to form, coming out on top in the Beeline Time Trial Series race at Chesterton.

In gusty conditions, Rose posted a winning time of 23mins 5secs to take first place.

Clubmate Steve Mead was six seconds back, with third place shared by Pete Oliver (Fairly United) and Gavin Tilson (Oxonian) in 23.15.

Oxonian’s Emma McDermott was the first lady home in 25.51.

Other notable results came from Oxford City juniors Ed Gronbech, who recorded 27.28, and Sam Hardy, who finished his first time trial in a very respectable 28.50.

Next week steps up a gear for the 19-mile hilly course at Charlbury.
