Alex Cook won a bronze medal for England during a very successful week.
The under 15 player, from Chinnor, began a stellar seven days by reaching the last 16 of the boys’ singles at the European Championships in Switzerland.
Cook lost to the No 2 seed there before he and his England teammates headed to the eight-nation Denmark Cup, securing a team bronze medal.
Not content with that, Cook won three medals in the Badminton England Gold Star tournament held at the University of Surrey.
Cook claimed gold in the boys’ doubles with Johnnie Torgussen (Buckinghamshire) after beating Bucks pair Stephen Stallwood and Avi Gupta 21-15, 21-23, 21-17.
Teaming up with Samodan Wijetunge of Surrey, Cook then won mixed doubles silver.
And he capped this with a silver medal in the boys’ singles.
