CHINNOR head coach Matt Goode says his side must improve their away form if they are to achieve their goal of a top-four finish in National 2 South.

Goode’s men host Southend tomorrow, looking to get back on track after a 22-20 defeat at Launceston last week.

“It was a tough place to go to, but these are the games we want to be winning if we are to finish in the top four,” said Goode.

“I am not too worried about our home games. We just need to start picking up more than one point away.”

No 8 Oskar Hirskyj-Douglas is out for up to six weeks with a shoulder tear, so Kai George replaces him in the squad.

He is joined by backs Sam Angell and Dan Barnes, who are all included after impressing in Chinnor 2nd’s victory over Jersey 2nd.

Goode will start after being on the bench at Launceston.

Versatile forward Liam Dwyer returns at lock for Henley Hawks’ home clash with Blackheath in National 1.

Dwyer is equally adept at hooker and openside flanker.

Ben Ashmore comes in at blindside flanker after being a late withdrawal against Old Albanians last week.

Centre Danny Wells and scrum half Luke Carter return in the backs.

Flanker Ryan Newman is back on the bench for his first Henley appearance since a knee injury in March.

Also among the replacements is back-three player Liam O’Neill, who returns from duty with his parent club London Wasps.

Nick Sevier replaces fellow centre Tom Clipsham (holiday) as Grove visit unbeaten South West 1 East leaders Oxford Harlequins.

Grove manager Phil Rennie said: “Everyone knows they are a good side, but we think we are too.

“We are not going there expecting to be beaten. We are going to give it a good go.

“We have not go the finances that they seem to have, but we do our best and build from within the club.”

Fly half Zac Norris is a doubt for Quins, who are looking to make it 11 wins from 11, due to concussion.

Lock Charlie Bennett replaces Scott Mortimer for Witney’s trip to Marlow.

Witney are just two points above the relegation zone after not winning for four matches.
