ASA Hall is keen to clear up where his future lies as the midfielder looks to prolong his stay at Oxford United.

The 26-year-old’s loan deal expires on New Year’s Day, but he does not want a return to parent club Shrewsbury Town.

Hall has featured in three-quarters of United’s league games this season, a run which is likely to continue with Andy Whing set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a groin injury.

The ex-Birmingham City trainee wants to stay for at least the rest of the season and is hoping for news shortly.

He said: “I’m sure in the next couple of weeks something will be discussed.

“I obviously want to stay here and be part of something which is hopefully going to happen at the end of the season.

“I’ve had a good run in the team this season.

“I expect to be out of it at times and you just have to wait. Hopefully I’ve got a chance now and I can take it.”

Hall spent two seasons with United before turning down a new contract to join Shrewsbury in 2012.

But he started just four games in League One last season, finishing the campaign on loan at Aldershot Town.

The unhappy stint means Hall feels more closely tied to United than the Shrews.

“Definitely,” he said.

“I haven’t even thought about Shrewsbury, it feels like I’m home again.”
