OXFORD MAIL GIRLS LEAGUE

Megan Jonston scored twice as Stonesfield Strikers inflicted a first defeat of the season on under 13 leaders Tower Hill Vixens with a 4-2 home win.

Jonston opened the scoring, only for Tower to equalise against the run of play through Isabelle Henthorn.

Stonesfield were back in front minutes later with a strike from Katie Appleton, and Jonston made it 3-1 at half-time.

Lauren Hooper reduced the arrears, before Emma Parker sealed it for Strikers, who are three points behind their rivals with a game in hand.

Barton United collected their first win of the season, defeating visitors Banbury United 2-0.

Barton took the lead five minutes before the break when Jasmine Hughes finished neatly after being put through by Xantia Day.

Ellie Gomersal tied up the points ten minutes from time thanks to a Jasmine Hughes effort.

Goals from Victoria Farries and Mali Minchin gave Bloxham a 2-1 home success over Chinnor in the under 16/17 league.

Chinnor’s Jo Taylor reduced the arrears, but Bloxham held on for victory.

Kidlington enjoyed a goal bonanza in their 9-0 home triumph over Highfield in the under 15s.

Emily Young (2), Rosie McCabe (2), Casey Brennan (2), Cloe Woodward, Frankie Hamby and  Zoe Chung all found the target.

Wantage Girls lost 11-0 at Swindon Spitfires in the under 14s.

Katie Donovan led the scoring spree with seven goals.

Helena Butcher (2), Lucy Goodright and Chantelle Scott were also on target.

Emily Parker gave Bloxham a first-half advantage over Kidlington, but the visitors turned the tables in the second half for a 3-1 win.

Annabelle Mundy, Abi Haynes and Kylie Pearson netted.

Crowmarsh bagged three second-half goals to win 3-0 at Harwell & Hendred in the under 12 league.

Alice Thorby grabbed a deserved brace, with Sophie Luchford also on the mark.

Kidlington Hawks got the better of local rivals Kidlington Harriers 3-0.

Two goals from Mia Thomson and one from Chloe Antonen gave hosts Hawks the local bragging rights.

Tower Hill Vixens eased to a 4-0 win at home to Thame.

Millie Hartwell (2), Jade Wright and Lily Sweet got the goals.

A spirited Wantage Girls outfit slipped to a 5-0 defeat at Swindon Spitfires, who had five separate scorers.

Georgia Miller, Amiee Prinzi, Gen Bayliss, Courtney Gleed and Shannon King were on the mark.

Under 11 leaders Oxford City managed their first home league win of the season, seeing off Stonesfield Strikers 7-1.

City took the lead early on with a Millie Collier strike only for Martha Cadwalader to level.

City then took control with goals from Molly Jones (2), Ella Littlewood, Jasmin Nassar, Lily Harries and another from Collier.
