Oxford United fans are being invited to attend Oxford City Stars ice hockey match tomorrow night as part of a new relationship between the clubs.

Stars and Oxford United fans organisation, the Yellow Army, have set up a partnership agreement.

To celebrate the deal, U’s fans can enter the Stars English National League South Division 2 match against Invicta Mustangs at Oxford Ice Rink (6.15pm).

Before the match, United’s Ollie and Olivia the Ox will be involved in a mascots race on the ice, along with the Oxford Mail’s Osney.

U's fans are encouraged to get along to the match to cheer on the Stars. Local charity Special Effects will be among the guests.

Joe Nicholls, of the Yellow Army, said: “Sunday night is all about celebrating the passion we have for sport in our great county.

“Both the football and ice hockey club are top of their leagues and that’s something to be proud of.

“We’re delighted to be guests to the Stars match and look forward to inviting them to an Oxford United match later in the season.”

The partnership will see a new flag proudly displayed at United matches by the Yellow Army, incorporating both teams badges with the words “Oxfordshire United” emblazoned on it.

In addition the Yellow Army are sponsoring Oxford City Stars defender and Oxford United fan Joe Oliver.

The prices for United fans tomorrow are: £3 adults and £1.50 for under 16s and over 65s and students.
