OXFORD City’s Alex Scrivener had a weekend to remember with two victories in two days.

The under 11 girl won her age group at the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth on Saturday and then claimed victory at the Bristol Cross Challenge on Sunday.

Scrivener clocked 7mins 57secs to win in Portsmouth, adding to her equivalent title at the Great North Run.

A day later, she switched to cross country and roared home on the Ashton Court circuit.

Scrivener completed the 1.7km course in 7.09, 35 secs clear of second-placed Kate Howard (Henleaze).

City clubmate Daisy Palmer was fifth in 7.44.

The latter race prompted a congratulatory tweet from fellow Oxford City member and Great Britain international Hannah England, who described the girls’ performance as “awesome”.

WHITE Horse Harriers’ Ian Lambourn was the second vet 50 man home in round two of the Wessex Cross Country League at Hudson’s Field Salisbury.

Lambourn finished 14th overall in 28mins 32secs, with clubmate Paul Jegou (27.52) ninth.
