BANBURY Bulls came up just short in a 28-25 defeat at unbeaten Midlands 2 West South leaders Earlsdon.
Bulls battled back to lead 25-21, but Share Chare’s late try, converted by Chris Scott, sealed Earlsdon’s win.
Chare’s try opened the scoring and Scott bagged No 2 after he had charged down a kick from Banbury fly half Alex Fogavini, Scott converting both, Fogavini’s penalty and lock Matt Brock’s try made it 14-8 at half-time after Earlsdon had a man sin-binned.
It was 14-11 after a second Fogavini penalty, but Scott converted Tom Walker’s long-range try.
Bulls took the lead when wing Alex Gandy and Fogavini finished well, Fogavini converting both.
But Earlsdon battled back to drive Chare over and Scott converted.
