JON Meades had surgery yesterday to correct an ankle injury after the Oxford United midfielder suffered a setback in his rehabilitation.
The 21-year-old was at a hospital in London yesterday for the operation.
It is another blow for Meades, who damaged ligaments during a pre-season game against Coventry City in July.
Specialists at the time ruled out the need for surgery and the summer signing was expected to return by late October.
It is not yet known how long the op will delay his debut, but it is likely to be several weeks away.
