COOPER (Bicester) narrowly edged past Wheatley Park 2-1 in the third round of the ESFA Under 16 Premier League Schools’ Cup.

Joel Reynolds gave the hosts the advantage at half-time after a tense opening period.

And although Wheatley pulled a goal back after the break, Ryan O’Connor struck the winning goal to secure Cooper’s passage into the fourth round.

In the girls’ competitions, Wallingford eased past Cherwell (Oxford) 10-0 after a commanding display in the ESFA Under 14 PlayStation Schools’ Cup second round.

There were goals in each half for Edie Stilwell-Garrett, Megan Osbourne and Leah McConnel, the trio bagging a brace each.

Sophie Warren, Annie Jaquest, Hollie Smith and Mia Venner also found the net for Wallingford, who advance to the third round in style.

They will be joined by Marlborough (Woodstock) following their impressive 5-0 away win over Wheatley Park.

Ella Dawkins and Mila Lewis each struck twice for the visitors, with Eva Wallace also netting after Dawkins had opened the scoring for Marlborough.
