OXFORD MAIL GIRLS LEAGUE

UNDER15&16/17

OXFORD City went to the top of the Under 15 League after defeating close rivals Swindon Spitfires 3-2.

Shelley Knight’s 35-yarder put City on their way and she set up Lauren Page for the first of a brace, the second a header.

Daniella Granato and Poppy Cottrill dragged Spitfires back into it, but City held on.

Summertown Stars’ 100 per cent record went when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Stonesfield Strikers.

Mila Lewis put Stonesfield ahead only for Jess Byles to level. Martha French restored Stars’ lead, but Flora Kempton rescued Summertown.

Didcot Casuals ran in 10 without reply against Kingham All Blacks.

Didcot dominated and goals from Jasmine Lawton (3), Ailie Lynn (2), Becci Bostock (2), Charlotte Guppy, Becca Cox and an own goal were their reward.

It was sweet 16-0 for Kidlington as they crushed Carterton Town.

Casey Brennan fired in five goals, Rosie McCabe got four, Emily Young and Izzy Keevill-Savage two each, with Cloe Woodward, Rachel Newman and Natalie Webb also netting.

Kyra Freeland, Mia Mugford, Chloe Scanlon and Charlotte Weisinger scored as Highworth Town saw off Bardwell 4-0.

In the Under 16-17 League, Kerrie Cope (2), Vicky Harrol (2) and an own goal gave Moretonville a 5-1 win over Swindon Spitfires. Sarah Ozzell replied.

UNDER14

SWINDON Spitfires proved too strong for Tower Hill Vixens in a 3-1 victory.
Spitfires’ Helena Butcher opened the scoring and Chantelle Scott crashed home a magnificent  second from 35 yards.

Holly Wilkinson grabbed a goal for the visitors, but Scott hit her second to seal it.

Goals from Jenna Owen and a stunning effort from  a free kick by Emily Parker gave Bloxham a 2-0 win over Benson Utd.

Benson had plenty of possession, but were unable to make it count.

UNDER12&13

KIDLINGTON Hawks’ eight players were overwhelmed by Swindon Spitfires 7-1 in the Under 12 League.

Emily Keal’s effort for the Hawks was wiped out by a four timer from Aimee Prinzi and a treble from Shannon King.

Kidlington Harriers and Carterton fought out a 4-4 draw.

Polly Hipkiss (3) and  Hannah Forse were on the mark for Harriers, with Millie Hall getting all Carterton’s goals.

Isabelle Henthorn’s strike gave Tower Hill Vixens a 1-0 victory over Barton United in the Under 13 League.

UNDER11

STONESFIELD Strikers edged to a 3-1 success over Tower Hill Vixens.

Vixens led through Georgia Smith but Martha Cadwalader levelled.

Rosie Ihringer’s two second half strikes saw Strikers take the points.
 

Rotherfield hammered Kidlington 6-1.

Sophie Darnell and Daniela Taverner bagged a couple each with Amy Parrish and Jamima Thompson also on the mark.

Rolese Mitchell got Kidlington’s goal.

Oxford City continued their great start to the season with a 9-0 win against a Wantage side who only had five players.

There were hat-tricks for City from Molly Jones and Lily Harried and one each from Stella Clarke, Ella Littlewood and Evie Price.
