JACK Robinson scored a club record six tries as Oxford Harlequins went top of South West 1 East with a 79-7 home hammering of morning leaders Swindon.

Full back Robinson, who is known as ‘Flash’, led the way in a 13-try demolition that saw Quins go three points clear at the top.

Kick-off was delayed until 3.30pm after the referee was held up in traffic, but the hosts scored after just four minutes when scrum half Ralph Jones broke wide to send flanker Ben Selby over.

Swindon briefly led after scrum half Len Durnford squeezed over in the corner and fly half Chris Brown converted.

But Quins roared back to lead 43-7 at the break.

Debutant centre Tevita Manumua ran in two tries, and Robinson bagged a first-half treble, all from long-range, with hooker Dylan Rodrigues also driving over.

Fly half Zac Norris converted four as the hosts ran amok.

Robinson set up wing Adam Walsh for try No 8, then finished off centre Keni Fisilau’s break for his fourth.

Replacement flanker Sam Bennett made it ten for Quins, followed by Robinson’s fifth.

Norris added a try to his total of seven conversions before Robinson rounded off a superb personal display by completing his double hat-trick.

Despite missing a number of first-team regulars, Grove proved too strong for Cheltenham in a 35-17 victory.

Wing Harry Carr scored two tries, with centre Nick Sevier and prop James Eckert also going over.

Full back Roger Sevier kicked three conversions and three penalties in the bonus-point success.

Cheltenham replied with two converted tries and one penalty, their second try coming after Grove stopped playing, expecting a forward pass to be awarded.

The visitors’ first try was a pushover effort against a seven-man scrum after Grove lock Richard Haire had been sin-binned.

Witney slipped to a 26-17 defeat at a spirited Devizes.

Devizes led via a converted try, but Witney prop Jamie Burke burst out of a maul to outsprint the winger and full back and score in the corner.

It was 14-5 at the break after a second converted try.

Two tries and a conversion made it 26-5 by 57 minutes.

Within a minute of replacing the injured James Lamb, Carl Strutt finished off a great move in the corner and full back Henry Lamb converted.

Witney couldn’t capitalise on further presure until time added on when wing James Monks burst through to score their third try.
