Debutant Dominic Lawless scored twice on his debut as Banbury came from behind to move back up to sixth place in the Calor League Premier Division table.

Totton went in front in the 12th minute, Ryan Hill scoring direct from a free-kick from a central position.

Banbury struggled to get to grips with the game for the next 20 minutes, but managed to find an equaliser when Kynan Isaac slipped the ball through to Leon Simpson, who slotted the ball home from 10 yards with just the keeper to beat.

The whole complexion of the game now changed, with Banbury dominant. Chances were being created and it was no surprise when a second goal came in the last minute of the half.

Isaac beat his man down the left, took the ball to the bye-line and then cut it back to Lawless, who fired home from 10 yards.

The all-important third goal came for Banbury ten minutes into the second half.

A free-kick in a central position from 22 yards out, taken by Aaron Morgan, was tipped on to the bar by Joe McCormack.

The ball came out to Leon Simpson whose header was parried away by the keeper only as far as Lawless who buried his shot from six yards.

Totton responded well to conceding and put Banbury under some pressure.

A shot from the edge of the area in the 64th minute saw Leigh Bedwell do well to tip the ball round the post for a corner.

Totton continued to push forward, but with Banbury defending gamely they were unable to find that second goal that would have put them right back in the game.

Banbury could even have notched a fourth as, in a breakaway in the 78th minute, Kieren Westwood put Simpson through, but the Banbury striker’s shot from the edge of the area was tipped away by McCormack.
