TREVOR Russell hit a superb 129 not out in his last competitive game for Cumnor 2nd despite batting 40 overs with a runner.

Veteran Russell tore a calf muscle but still saw his score go from 76 to 100 with six fours off one over.

His knock was the highlight along with Mark Carpenter, who chipped in with 68 as Cumnor 2nd amassed 314-5 at hapless Challow & Childrey 2nd.

Only Rory Moore (3-69 and 41no) stood in the visitors’ way, as Challow then collapsed to 100 all out, Dane Bailey taking 3-29.

Kimble now need a miracle to go up after losing at home to Tiddington 2nd, who move into the top half for the first time.

Jon Talbot (83) and Keith Sims (73) took Tiddington to 269-8, at which point they declared. Sam Agace took 4-59.

Neil Smith then bowled brilliantly to take 7-73 as Kimble fell just short on 256, Ali Russel hitting 47 and Jordan McRae 42.

Captain Adam Hall notched a ton for the second week running for Oxford 3rd, this time hitting 124 not out against Abingdon Vale 2nd.

He was joined by Julian Lawton-Smith (72) in a partnership that helped the hosts declare on 282-5 from 50 overs.

Tom Pollard (73) and Chris Butcher (40) then extended Vale’s unbeaten run to six matches as they closed on 214-7.

Great Brickhill are promoted after beating Twyford by seven wickets.

Nick Tweed took 3-34 as the visitors were bowled out for 130, then Brickhill cruised to 131-3 in 24.3 overs, Chris Jones hitting 51 and Andrew Bowden 32 not out.

Leighton Buzzard Town 2nd remain favourites to join Brickhill in Division 4 after they beat Thame Town 2nd.

Riaan Krynauw crashed 86 in Leighton’s 174 all out, then Andy Smith took 4-41 as the visitors were dismissed for 156, despite Richard Carr’s 52.
