Andy Caton netted a second-half double as North Leigh set up a trip to county rivals Didcot Town on September 14 after a 2-1 FA Cup preliminary-round comeback victory at the Combined Counties League Premier Division outfit on Saturday.

Bedfont, who saw off Abingdon United in the previous round, started brightly and took the lead early on.

Stefan Nor’s shot was blocked, only for Shamarki Ali to fire past North Leigh keeper Sam Warrell into the top corner from 12 yards.

The Millers were struggling to put together any attacking moves and it wasn’t until the 33rd minute that Jacob Walcott saw his shot easily saved. Two minutes later, the Millers were level.

Conor McDonagh took advantage of a mix-up between home keeper Liam Stone and his defenders by clipping home the loose ball into the far corner.

Right on half-time, McDonagh almost put North Leigh ahead, only for his shot to hit a post.

After the break, North Leigh mounted a series of attacks and went in front 14 minutes from time.

Morgan Williams’s corner found Caton whose powerful header flew past Stone from three yards. Caton then completed his brace when he tapped home from close range on full time.
