A Great Britain crew, which includes three members with Oxfordshire connections, successfully defended their World Championship para-rowing mixed coxed four title at Chungju, South Korea.
Henley duo Oliver Hester, who rows for the town’s Leander Club, and cox Oliver James, a member of Henley RC, plus Leander’s Pamela Relph teamed up with Naomi Riches, and James Fox to take gold on Lake Tangeum.
They triumphed in 3mins 16.12secs ahead of Italy, with South Africa taking bronze.
For Riches, like Relph a reigning Paralympic champion, it was a sixth world title.
She said: “This one is very special. We set a race plan and executed it well.”
