CUMNOR are promoted to the top flight after winning at Challow & Childrey by seven wickets.

The home side posted a competitive 199-8, thanks principally to Aussie Luke Stutter’s 58.

Adam Cook claimed 3-52 and then led the way after tea by hitting 50 in Cumnor’s 203-3, which also featured useful knocks from John Williams (49), Ali Morteza (41) and Jamie Douglas (30).

Cumnor can clinch the title by collecting more points than Wolverton when the teams meet on Saturday.

Sam Hollingshead took all ten wickets for Tiddington at Wolverton Town, but his day was to end in disappointment.

He became only the fifth bowler in the league’s history to go through the entire card, finishing with figures of 10-65 as Town were dismissed for 189. Atif Akhlaq top-scored with 49.

Earlier this season Hollingshead took 7-56 when the sides met at Tiddington.

But on Saturday he was then let down by his teammates, who collapsed to 98 all out. Nick Pykett (44) was the only batsman to get going against, Zaheer Khan (3-28) and Idrees Butt (3-46).

The result means Wolverton are promoted.
