UNDER 17 BOYS
OXFORDSHIRE ended their campaign with an encouraging first-innings defeat away to Sussex Under 17s at Blackstone.
The four-wicket loss came after Sussex beat Oxon by 230 runs in a one-day match at the start of the season.
Oxon were shot out for 161 in 72.3 overs, under 14 player Jordan Garrett hitting 46.
Jonty Jenner made 109 not out, but Sussex struggled against Hendrick Robyns (6-39) and Jason Cardy (3-16).
They lost six wickets before passing Oxon’s score and were bowled out for 211.
Tom Costley (47), Markus Jeacock (44) and Alex Davies (37) then shone in Oxon’s 201-6 dec, but there was no time to bowl again at Sussex.
