ABINGDON just missed out on promotion from Division 5 after coming joint fifth in the fourth and final round at Sutton Coldfield.
Dan Hamilton won the men’s 1,500m (4mins 12.1 secs) and 3,000m (9.42.1).
Fatima Jammeh-Kinteh took the women’s shot (10.96m), discus (31.24) and javelin (38.01).
The result left Abingdon third in the table, with just the top two to go up.
Match result: 1 Leicester Coritanian 429½, 2 Royal Sutton Coldfield 358, 3 Leamington 341½, 4 Solihull & Small Heath 337, 5= Abingdon, Dudley & Stourbridge H 316, 7 Kidderminster 273.
Final positions: 1 Leicester 23, 2 RSCAC 18, 3 Abingdon 16½, 4 Solihull 16.
- STEVE Naylor, from Combe, won his 5,000m race in 15mins 0.02secs to help Bedford & County win Division 2 North of the Sweatshop Southern League.
