Vikings play-off with Masons tonight for the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford Summer League Group A title after fighting back for a 3-3 draw at West Oxford Democrats Club, writes PETE EWINS.
Needing four points to secure top spot, Vikings found themselves 3-1 down with a win for Sean Stratford (7,770) being overshadowed by John Patey (5,710 & 8,080) and Terry Green (4,690) for Democrats.
However, the visitors rallied with Stratford (5,420) and Bob Allsworth (3,280), triumphing to snatch a draw and force a title play-off.
STANDINGS
Group A: 1= Masons, Vikings 20pts, 3 Didcot Con Club 16, 4 West Oxford Democrats 16.
Group B: 1 Marlborough A 21, 2 Marlborough B 20, 3 Bletchington 13, 4 Gladiators 12.
