Divisions 1-3

WESTBURY and Shrivenham are locked head-to-head at the top of Division 1 after both posted convincing victories on Saturday.

Westbury cruised to a seven-wicket success at Oxenford and a 17 point advantage.

Charlie Harper claimed 5-23 as Oxenford were rolled over for 102.

Sam Willett then hit 40 not out to lead Westbury to 105-3.

Shrivenham saw off hosts Minster Lovell by 38 runs after Alex Kill slammed an outstanding 118 in his side’s 193 all out.

Minster put up a spirited run-chase, but were 155 all out despite Elliot Graham’s 62, Scott Valentine taking 5-23.

Third-placed Chadlington fell to a five-wicket defeat away to Garsington.

Danny Harding (55) and Richard Ingram (53no) saw Chadlington to 186-5, but Garsington eased past the target at 188-5 as Jefter Andrews hit 61 and Craig Wharton 59 not out.

Charlbury moved up to fourth place after a 66-run win at East & West Hendred.

Rob Knight led the way for the visitors as his 90 helped his side to 217 all out, while Martin Turnbull took 5-29.

Hendred’s reply closed at 151-9, despite 88 from Ivan Mulford.

Tom Bartlett scored a sublime 113 and Dan Knight 66 not out as Hook Norton thrashed Broughton & North Newington by 184 runs.

Hooky rattled up a massive 270-8, before Robin Scotter claimed 5-27 as Broughton were shot out for 86.

In Division 2, Cowley Internationals closed in on the title after a six-wicket win at Clifton Hampden.

Ayaz Khan took 5-56 to help restrict the home side to 170-8, and Cowley eased to 172-4 as Aizaz Khan scored 61 and Qaiser Naveed 52.

Second-placed Great Horwood fell to a 58-run defeat at Tetsworth.

The home side were all out for 168, before Horwood crashed to 110 all out in their reply.

Faringdon’s promotion hopes suffered a setback as they lost by six wickets at home to Stonesfield.

Ian McDowall (70) and Luke Bowerman (46) helped Faringdon to 177 all out.

But 63 not out from Sam Hibberd, who had earlier taken 3-35, saw Stonesfield home at 178-4.

Marsh Gibbon won their basement battle against visitors Winslow Town by eight wickets.

Sat Vadivale claimed 6-28 as Winslow were skittled out for 74, before Will Hammond (39no) helped Gibbon to 77-2.

Watlington boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop with a four-wicket home win over Chipping Norton.

After restricting their visitors to 172-9, Watlington eased to 174-6 as Steve Strong scored 82.

Radley took over at the top of Division 3 after a seven-wicket win over visitors Britwell Salome.

Mohammed Faruq claimed a hat-trick in figures of 7-31 to help dismiss Britwell for only 84, Adam McConkey hitting 43 not out. Faruq then blasted a quick 24 to see Radley to 85-3.

Combe edged a thrilling home clash with Cairns Fudge by one wicket.

Batting first, Fudge posted 151-9, Tom Small top-scoring with 30 and Sam Kellie taking 4-30.

Combe lost regular wickets in their reply, but, led by skipper Robbie Nicholson (46), they edged to 152-9.

Chesterton’s Steve Lewis starred with bat and ball to help his side to a six-wicket home win over Westcott.

Lewis claimed 5-46 in Westcott’s 183 all out, before scoring 49 not out to lead his side to 185-4, Graham White hitting 52.

Witney Swifts virtually assured their safety from the drop after a four-run win over visitors Fringford.

Batting first, Swifts reached 189-8, Jason Seacole top-scoring with 47.

Harry Collard scored 61 in Fringford’s reply, but they were bowled out for 185.
