LAST Saturday, I was happy to see and hear of five of my ex’s doing well.

I’m not talking about my former lovers, but my former teams, five of whom won on the opening day of the season.

Oxford, Wycombe, Reading, Leeds and Bournemouth all had the dream start they had been working towards the whole of pre-season.

My only regret was not having a cheeky bet on them all, as it would of paid for my Nandos trip at the weekend.

I always look for the results of my old teams and it was no different on Saturday after my game for Hendon FC against Northwood.

There was no Sky TV in the Northwood away team dressing room, unlike my old home of the Kassam Stadium.

Instead I had to wait till after my cold shower (which was not by choice by the way) and check on my phone.

I have great memories of all my former clubs, however long or short my stay was.

People constantly ask which is my favourite.

I prefer to concentrate on my best memories, rather than my favourite club.

Beating Real Madrid in the Super Cup with Chelsea; victory over AC Milan in the Champions League with Leeds and my emotional send-off at St Johnstone are just some of my happiest.

My favourite moment with Oxford Utd would be walking over to a sea of yellow and blue in the away end of the County Ground after a well-earned victory against Swindon.

It was Cup Final, carnival and promotion all rolled up into one, creating a unique atmosphere. Those lucky enough to be there or part of it will understand what I mean.

I’m really hoping all my former teams have great success this season and follow on from their opening day success.

If I was to have a dream season, it would be: Chelsea winning Premier League and the Champions League; Stoke winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League; Leeds winning the Championship with Reading runners-up, resulting in a return to the Premiership for both.

Bournemouth to win the Championship play-off and join the big boys for the first time in their history; St Johnstone win the SPL and the Europa League; Oxford Utd to win League Two, with Wycombe going up as runners-up.

I might just put a fiver on it just in case. If it comes in, the drinks are on me!
