BUCKINGHAM’S Division 1 title bid suffered a huge blow after being hit with a points deduction.
After incidents in their game against Cumnor last season, the club were handed a suspended 30-point deduction and Wayne Platts a four-game suspended ban.
These punishments would be enforced if Buckingham’s 1st XI or captain received a mark of three or less between June 30 2012 and the midpoint of the 2013 campaign.
In a match on June 8, 2013 between Buckingham and Leighton Buzzard, the umpires reported Platts and awarded his side a team score of three, thus triggering the suspended sentences.
Platts’s ban runs from August 3-24.
