MATCH IN FOCUS - Division 2: Abingdon Vale v Ox & Bletch Nondescripts
TOM Pollard found the gaps with surgical precision for Abingdon Vale – but it proved to no avail as rain ended their clash at home to Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.
The doctor overcame the embarrassment of running out opening partner Tom Price in the early stages, going on to score 73 as his side rattled up 174-6.
Skipper Graham Charlesworth hit 36 not out, while Alex Davis took 3-58 as Vale’s innings was reduced to 40 by rain. Nondies were 16 without loss after three overs when further rain fell.
Although it appeared to have stopped early enough for the sides to resume and bowl the remaining 17 overs needed to constitute a game, the umpires deemed there was not enough time remaining and called an end to proceedings.
Abingdon Vale 6pts, Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondies 6
