Another bowler to take 6-54 was Jason Hunt, as Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd collected a much-needed win at home to promotion-chasers Cublington.

Greg Jenkins hit 43 and Joe Leonard 41 but the visitors were dismissed for 193.

Earlier Shipton’s 239-4 featured 74 from David Bugge.

Banbury 3rd stay hot on Shipton’s heels after pulling off a shock win at Horspath 2nd, who had not lost a league game for four years.

Alastair Jarvis (55), Jamie Coles (42) and Paul Atkins (30no) helped them reach 204-8 in an innings reduced by a shower to 45 overs.

Mitchell Meredith picked up 3-33 for Horspath, who then collapsed to 132 all out against Stuart Barr (4-21) and despite Stephen Green’s 37.

Dan Murphy (66) helped Bicester & North Oxford post a competitive 184 all out at home to leaders Long Marston. Pete Toovey took 5-65.

But it was not enough as Marston made their way to 186-6, in part thanks to Mark Green's 41.

Sandford St Martin’s highest score of the season – 228-7 – was more than enough against basement boys Bledlow Ridge.

Paul Tanner (73no) and Henry Portman (56) did most of the damage, with James Stevens (4-77) doing his best to stem the tide. Ridge were then rolled over for 87.
