DIDCOT 2nd’s promotion hopes suffered a major blow with a 103-run defeat at home to rivals Brackley in Division 6.

Brackley made 190-6, with Michael Cartwright hitting 71 not out and Michael Lowe 43.

Rob Keat took 4-39 for Didcot, who were then skittled for 87 as Rob Cartwright (4-26) and Keith Cartwright (4-43) did most of the damage.

Another side losing touch in the promotion race were Great & Little Tew 3rd in Division 7.

Tew were all out for 149 against Bletchley Town 2nd, who eased to 150-6, with Ian Smith making 43 not out.

East Oxford 2nd took advantage of Tew’s defeat with a six-wicket victory over Oxford Downs 3rd.

Richard Hart starred with 6-22 as Division 8 leaders Horley 2nd beat neighbours Banbury 5th by eight wickets.

Hart and Dave Beck (3-27) ensured Banbury were all out for 84 before Andy Parker hit 42 in Horley’s 86-2.

Wallingford 2nd’s Ben Denton also celebrated a six-wicket haul as his side saw off Kingston Bagpuize 2nd.

Denton took 6-24 in Bagpuize’s 92-9, then Stuart Edwards (38no) steered Wallingford to 93-2.

Andy Parke almost earn ed Tiddington 3rd victory over Kimble 2nd in Division 9.

Parke hit 106 and Paul Newell 60 in Tiddington’s 196-4. Kimble scraped to 109-8, despite Parke taking 3-5 and Leo Suter 3-29.
