TRIALLISTS Adam Maabdi and Victor Francoz will again feature for Oxford City this evening in their pre-season clash at Chesham United, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Frenchmen, who arrived at the club as a result of the efforts of new president Thomas Guerriero, have been on an extended trial with City.

And boss Mike Ford is hoping to see them in action once the season gets under way.

He said: “They’ve both done extremely well during pre-season and we’re trying to gain clearance to play them in competitive fixtures, so when that comes through we’ll be able to make a decision on them.”

Maabdi scored in City’s 1-1 draw with Hungerford Town on Saturday, but after conceding a last-minute equaliser Ford admitted he was hoping to name a more experienced side this evening.

“I just thought we were a bit naive at the end and looking at the XI that finished the game there was a real lack of experience out there,” he added.

“Ryan Barney, Jack Self and Liam Palfreeman were all in our youth team last year, but they didn’t look out of place and it just goes to show that our policy of giving young players a chance is beginning to bear fruit now.”
