SEVEN Oxfordshire oarsmen are in the Great Britain team for the World Junior Championships in Lithuania from August 7-11.
Abingdon School’s Ian Middleton, Joel Cooper and Matthew Carter are in the men’s eight for the regatta in Trakai, together with Oli Knight and Titus Morley, from St Edward’s School, Oxford.
The Abingdon trio were in the crew which won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup for schoolboy eights at Henley three weeks ago, beating St Edward’s. Knight, meanwhile, was in the GB boat which won gold in Munich earlier this year.
Radley College’s Robbie Wendin and Charles Elwes will race in the coxed four, with Eton College’s Will Geffen, St Paul’s Misha Wilcockson and cox Sam Collier, from Hampton.
Radley College’s John Gearing is the joint coach of the eight.
