BICESTER’S Tom Gould (pictured) is all smiles after meeting Paula Radcliffe at the Olympic Stadium in London.

The under 15 athlete finished second in the National Lottery Family Run at the London 2012 venue.

Gould completed the 2.5km race in 10mins 51secs, and was congratulated afterwards by the women’s marathon world record-holder.

  • JAMES Currah had a double reason to celebrate after clocking an 800m personal best at the Saucony Hampshire Grand Prix in Basingstoke.

Currah’s time of 1min 56.64secs was a new Witney club record and also the best by an under 17 at the meeting – landing him a new pair of spikes from the sponsors.

Abingdon’s Nick Wiltshire and Georgia Harvey were also victorious over 800m.

Wiltshire took the under 13 boys’ honours in 2.22.00, while Harvey was the fastest under 17 girl in 2.18.68 – both personal bests.

Clubmate Dan Hamilton clocked 8.49.97 for 12th in the top 3,000m race.
