JAMES Bolton made it three Oxfordshire Road Race Grand Prix victories in a row with a dominant display in the Hornton Classic Six.

The 40-year-old Woodstock Harriers stalwart completed the hilly six-mile course near Banbury in 32mins 38secs to win by almost three minutes.

Witney Road Runners’ Gareth Petts was second in 35.26, which also earned him the senior men’s title.

Simon Pritchard (Banbury Harriers) was third in 35.44.

Woodstock took the men’s team title, with Dave Cantwell fourth and Kevin Game sixth.

Remarkably, Bolton’s victory was actually his third race of the day.

He had earlier competed over 600m and the mile in the British Milers Club Oxford Grand Prix at Iffley Road.

The prolific racer clocked 1min 32.93secs for the shorter distance and 4.39.37 for the mile.

Samantha Usher led home an Alchester ladies’ one-two.

Usher was the first lady across the line in 40.33.

Fellow vet 35 athlete and Alchester clubmate Kate Hutching was second in 41.37.

Headington Road Runners’ Adrienne Hopkins, another vet 35 athlete, was third lady in 43.23.
