AN extra 500 tickets for Oxford United’s opening day visit to Portsmouth in Sky Bet League Two will go on sale this morning after the original allocation sold out.

The last of the original 2,000 tickets were snapped up yesterday, but Pompey have provided an additional batch for the away end on August 3, which will go on sale at 9.30am.

It will be United’s first visit to Fratton Park for nearly 15 years, when the sides shared a 2-2 draw in Division 1.

The travelling fans will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s opener, when the U’s won 2-0 at Bristol Rovers thanks to goals from Jake Forster-Caskey and Alfie Potter.
