Oxfordshire team Sean Wal-kinshaw Racing (SWR) were celebrating after Jack Barlow claimed his second race victory of the season with a super performance at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

It followed his first place in the second round at Silverstone.

Despite having never raced on the track, Barlow shone in qualifying to take pole. And he continued his good form with a faultless lights-to-flag drive.

Barlow added a seventh place in round 11 and fourth in round 12 to move into the championship top six.

However, hopes that his teammate Matty Graham would add a podium finish ended on lap four at Old Hall, following contact from a rival while running in third.

Finishing in the top six in rounds 10 and 12, however, saw the teenager climb to equal ninth in the title race, tied on points with James Fletcher.

“It’s been a very strong weekend for SWR – we’re delighted to be back on the top step of the podium with Jack”, said team owner Sean Walkinshaw.

“He’d never even seen the track before pre-testing and even though he had a big shunt in testing, he bounced back amazingly to take his first pole and then win the first race – it was a fantastic performance.

“Matty was very strong and consistent all weekend.

“He really did deserve a podium finish and was very unlucky not to get one after the contact in race two.”

The team are next in action on the weekend of July 27-28 when they head to Brands Hatch.
