Sam Hollingshead says Tiddington can make up for their Davidstow Village Cup exit by gaining promotion to Cherwell League Division 1.
The 24-year-old seamer has enjoyed a wicket-laden season so far, although it was his batting that took centre stage in their defeat to Rockhampton.
While Hollingshead has been taking the plaudits, he believes Tiddington’s all-round strength can fire them to the Cherwell League top-flight for the first time in their history.
“Now we can just focus on the league,” he said. “I think we have got a really good chance to get promoted.
“We are a really good fielding side and have been batting and bowling well as a unit.
“I think promotion should be the target and there is no reason why we shouldn’t achieve it.
“We are still a young side. I am 24 and one of the older ones.
“If we stick together, we can be a really successful team.”
Tiddington captain Darren Risden added: “It would be great if we could achieve promotion this year.
“We have had four wins in a row and are sitting second in the table.”
Hollingshead has 26 Cherwell League wickets this season.
But he stressed: “The thing that has been making it easier is that others have been bowling well too. It makes such a difference so that we can keep the pressure on.”
