Oxonian's Malcolm Rose has beaten the club’s longstanding 25-mile record. The previous time of 53mins 22secs was set by Mick Bowen in 1984.
Bowen, the club’s president, had been the record holder since 1957 when he first set a new best.
But Rose, pictured, who also broke the club’s 30 mile record in May, shaved a second off Bowen’s best at a time trial in Hampshire.
“It’s a good undulating course to ride, with the fast downhill start onto the A3,” said Rose.
“I felt good all the way to the finish and was really pleased to get another club record.”
