Oxford Cavaliers re-wrote their record books as they crushed local rivals Swindon St George by a sensational 110-0 away from home to return to the top of the West of England League table.

The visitors made the breakthrough after only two minutes and dominated play throughout, carving open the Swindon defence with ease and keeping a clean sheet into the bargain.

Cavaliers had already notched a half-century against Swindon – a 54-14 home win at the beginning of June – so this completed a remarkable double of 164-14!

The victory easily surpassed their previous record best win, a 84-4 margin at home to Somerset earlier this term.

Centre Jack Briggs led the scoring spree with five tries, full back Mario De Silva notched four and Adam Thompson three, while wing Jonty De Silva went over twice.

There were single tries from Adam White (pictured above), Stuart Waknell, John Connaughton, Wes Newton, Toby James and Marc Mackenzie, taking the total to 20.

White landed eight out of ten conversions and Waknell kicked seven from nine attempts.

Cavaliers can expect a sterner challenge next week when they host second-placed Gloucestershire Warriors in a top-of-the-table clash.
